Police said a driver was seen allegedly driving off after a minor collision on Halley Street, Blackburn, about 6.50pm on Friday.

Police attended the driver’s address and stopped him as he drove into the driveway with his two-year-old son in the car.

He was taken to Forrest Hill Police Station where he allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of .0123, almost triple the legal limit.

The man’s licence was suspended and he is expected to be charged with drink-driving, failing to exchange a name and address, and failing to stop after a collision.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said she did not have further details on the collision, but said it was only minor.

In a separate incident, a Safety Beach woman, 47, was stopped while leaving a shopping centre car park in the Dromana area.

Police were notified of an erratic driver about 8pm Friday.

The woman was taken to the police station, where she returned an extremely high blood alcohol reading of 0.320.

She had her licence suspended and car impounded, and will be charged with drink-driving.
